ParticipantZanussi WJD1667W washer drier. PNC:- 91460182500. Serial no:- 44800752.
Set drier to any automatic or timed setting and the drier will not switch on. Drum revolves and pump runs. No fan or heat.
BUT….run the diagnostics – and the drier works perfectly! No error code is displayed. 😕
I’ve checked the heaters for earth leaks; the fan runs; the thermistor seems to work as the display reads the temperature at the thermistor and during the diagnostics it shows a steady rise. Wires to thermistor all OK. Both stats have continuity.
Only thing left is PCB……… 🙁 Do QER do these boards? (I know EMW don’t).Anything I’ve missed?
Cheers,
Steve.

have you checked cold water valve a lot of these machines wont start the dryer till it detects the cold water
hope this helps

Condenser solenoid works – apart from the PCB running the solenoid valve, what device senses condenser water intake? I’ve scoured TDS tech and I can’t find anything. 😕

looking at the tech info on the drying cycle it reads
1 calibration time out 10 min pump on
2 tap test water level 10mm time out 10 min pump off
3 cool down time out 20 min
4 dry time ou 20 mini assume you stop working between 1 and 2
have you tried pouring a small amount of water in soap draw it looks to me as if it is waiting for a water level although explanation in the tech manual is not good. check for blockages in pressure circuit that may stop dryer but may not stop wash with more water taken in
bit of guess work on my part but worth a try
hope it helps

Could try changing the (green?) solenoid coil anyway. They have a tendency to work for a few mins and then go o/c when they get warmed up. Usually shows an E10 though. 😕

just a tthought, has this little fella got a sensor in duct hose,if it has just check the leads going into it, they breakin the connector, nothing shows up in the diagnostics, hope this helps nige

Sequence should be:-
1. Dryer fill solenoid operates.
2. Pressure switch senses water level rise and operates drain pump.
3. Pressure switch senses water level drop and puts power to LOWER dryer element.
4. Dryer ntc senses heat from LOWER element and operates dryer fan and switches on TOP dryer element. If the solenoid is working ok and when on diagnostics the fan works and you are getting power to the elements then I would say the lower element is faulty. If that is OK then it must be a pcb fault.

hijacking an old thread went out to one of these on thursday not drying properly put it through a test cycle customer said it was showing E10, test came up E72 checked the solenoid for condenser water it was faulty i changed it but it still wont take in water for the dryer it gets positive but no negative.
checked the pcb all tracks and triacs looked ok.
am i missing something or is it the pcb?October 10, 2010 at 12:28 pm #324334bigchrisoioi

if there is no error code, i would say pcb!

Orange wires snapped on the sensor stuck in the hose from the bottom of condensor duct to tub. Normally shows as the dryer counts down every 30 seconds instead of every minute. 🙂

suede – had a 2 1/2 year old aeg dryer element go down, even tho it heated up nicely in diagnostics, but that was affecting washing and drying progs…

SPOT ON!
I have had two of these with identical faults 7 BOTH were the broken orange wire from base of machine to the sensor in the hose.
If you tip the machine back you can reach it from underneath 😀

i checked the orange wires both ok, both elements ok for continuity but it still will not take in water fo the condenser.
i put it through a test and it takes in water for the condenser, i dont undestand how it isok on test but not ok on a program?
