Zanussi wm error code E6H

Hi,
We have a Zanussi Washing Machine ZWG7140P 914530224. When you set the dial the display shows the time left to end of cycle. When you press start the time goes to 1 and then 0 in 2 seconds. When in test mode the display immediatrly says E6H and the start button flashes 6 red and 11 green.

Can anyone help?

Possible earth leak on heater or heater relay fault

Thanks Bazza. I replaced the element but still the same fault. I then tried it with the element disconnected and it works but obviously wont heat.
Is the board thats faulty so ??

May be dodgy board either, these ones with the board laying flat under top lid are prone to condensation forming across the tracks and giving false readings, worth a try to check.
But double check heater, Megger it & check for earth leak as advised. Most likely element is low to earth or there is an earth fault somewhere on the appliance.
