ParticipantHi
What a great forum!
I have a Zanussi DE4554 slimline dishwasher about 18 months old that all of a sudden has started playing up. It won’t drain but only when it’s hot.
Starting a program is fine – the drain motor runs for a bit before it starts to fill. About an hour through the program it sits there doing nothing for a bit then flashes the program light and the dry light which the manual says means it wont drain. There is water in the unit. If I leave it for half an hour to cool off then start another program it drains OK.
I have removed the drain pump (an Askoll) and it all seems fine – no gunge or anything. I’ve also had checked that there is power present at the motor when it’s not doing anything (but is supposed to) which there is.
So i guess all I’m asking is whether I should order a replacement pump. It just seems odd that it won’t pump hot water!
Thanks
Gavin

It does all point toward the drain pump Gavin to be honest but it’s impossible to be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure on these “intermittent” type faults.
The pump is part number 1115790105 at £42.25 from Zanussi which I can order for you, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk if you’d like one.
If you’re unsure, please ask an engineer to confirm, Repairs@ should provide one for you.
Power off at all times please when checking/repairing :zap:
Hope this helps 🙂
Dave.

Hi Dave
Thanks for your reply. Just before I place an order with you, I’m going to have another look at the pump to see if it looks like the impellor might start binding when it gets hot. Having checked there is 240V at the pump when it isn’t working when it should, I can’t think it can be anything else.
Appreciate the warning re electricity – personally I don’t touch anything when it’s plugged in – I have an electrician pal who sorts that stuff out!
Thanks again and I’ll be in touch
Gavin

Hi
Just a footnote to this – ordered the drain pump from Dave using Shop@(very easy), turned up within a few days, all fitted and problem solved.
Brilliant!
Cheers
