    Hi,
I have a faulty defrost heater.
Looking on TDS I’m wondering how to extract the evaporator far enough to fit the new one without damaging the system. I got the housing out a bit but not too far. Is it a case of removing the plastic housing (how is this done? It was a solid block of ice holding everything together) and fitting it under the evaporator?
    Thanks for any advice.

The advice we were given by Electrolux was to some how raise the compressor up 😯 😕 but now we have been told that we have to replace the entire evaporator assy .I was called to one on Tuesday 3years old on a chargable basis and understandably the customer went mental so I just advised him to phone Electrolux and demand to know why it was designed with no view to be able to replace the element without incurring extra exspence 👿 . Even the tall built in freezer that you can pull the evaporator right out onto a table if need be weve been informed not to just replace the element so far I havn’t found out why and on that model the element has even been deleted from the parts list yet last week I went to an identical freezer badged as an De-Dietrich that the element had gone and they happily supplied the element .

Thanks for the reply, don’t want to damage the system so will decline this one.
