    Hi folks,

    Newbie on the forum here.

Just had a call from my Dad asking me if I can help him out. One of the dual ring elements in the glass topped hob has failed such that the outer rings work but the inner section doesn’t on one of the two stage elements. He’s happy to replace it, but can’t see a way of getting the hob top loose to raise it or hinge it for access to the element mountings.

Does anyone have any hints on what screws are to be loosened/removed to allow him to gain suitable access and any other tips on the job if anyone has carried out the same sort of repair?

    Thanks for any advice.

    Jonty

    Hi.

Power off first. Remove both side panels, remove screws for hob top bracket (2 each side). Slacken screws for control panel to allow hob top to clear it. Hob top is hinged at back corners. All four hotplates will now be visible & from here you can follow your nose.

    Hi, very useful advice.

    I have a similar issue with a ZCE7700X 🙁

I’ve removed the screws at the back of the side panels and the panels move freely at the back but the front of the panels refuse to budge!! Are there hidden screws at the front?

I thought they’d just slide back but no joy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    TT

    Hi.

The screws are I think under the trim that goes vertically at the front sides of the product. The trim should pop off using a flat blade screwdriver.
