Tumble Dryer Error Code for Zanussi ZDC8202P:I have triggered the error code display and would like to know what the error is, please.

The dryer has been refusing to start, beeping three times while flashing red on the start/pause button.
This happens either midway during a cycle so it stops, or increasingly at the start, refusing to let you begin or after 5 mins or so of the cycle.

Lock is off, door is shut, tank and filter empty (at start of cycle). The lights are flashing as follows, all amber except one instance of red:

The left-most vertical row of ‘mode’ lights flash in turn from the top ‘Cotton’ to the bottom ‘Time 30 mins’. ‘Mix’ flashes with ‘Cond’
As the bottom ‘Time 30 mins’ LED flashes amber, so too does the ‘Start/Pause’ button. The ‘Start/Pause’ button then flashes RED once at the same as ‘Tank’ flashes amber.

This is the only red flash during the display cycle. Then the first three dryness LEDs flash from 4/4 (fully dry) to 2/4 (half dry) while the three
timer LEDs simultaneously flash through 3h, 6h, 9h.

‘Filter’ and ‘Lock’ then flash simultaneously. Then it flashes in turn down the options for Anticrease 90 mins, Time 60 mins and Delicate.
When ‘Delicate’ flashes this is simultaneous with ‘Cottons’, and the cycle begins again.

    Any help would be appreciated.

the odd thing with this is it seems to be fault family 3 which is concerned with the conductimetric sensor. It also says this fault code is not active unless in test mode
the conductimetric sensor senses the moisture in the clothes. cab be a simple as a stainless strip inside the machine the clothes rub on. tumble dryer sheets can affect its working by coating it. if you can see it you could try cleaning it and see what happens

no easy fix i can think of.

Thanks for your reply Dave, appreciate it. Is the conductmetric sensor the same thing as the humidity moisture sensor probe?

It’s got some a couple of preset time buttons – ‘Time 30 mins’ which gives you what it says on the tin, I’m getting the same error when trying to use them too. Cheers.

Yes, that’s it. Start button flashes red 3 times. In diagnostic mode, when the lights cycle, the Start button flashes red when ‘Tank’ is lit. Cheers

It seems to be OK running for about 5 minutes then stops. Could be a temperature issue? Cheers.

not unless the temp is affecting the sensor on some way

It’s now been running for 40 mins no probs. Seems to go through periods of not working. This is the first time it’s worked over 5 mins for a couple of days!
