Normally around 3 watt, somewhere like CPC or RS should stock suitable replacements.

Yes Dave, but you’d already made that point. So as far as I’m concerned, my Reiterating it would have served no Useful purpose.

trying not to nag, just making sure. Its one of those things that if you get it wrong you may be on the wrong side of a law suit and none of us want that

hope you get it sorted as it makes a cheap repair for the client. changed lots of these chips and 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time it works

Not disagreeing with you Dave, But surely that applies to virtually any repair you carry out on an appliance. Should your repair cause damage or injury then your liable to feel the weight of the Law.

agree which is why any components we install should be fit for purpose especially any safety components that prevent shocks or fire

Dave: Believe me, when it comes to safety then we’re both way up at the top of the same page. But these are the trade forums, when one of us tells someone that something is a Safety item then they should take that on board with the first telling. It shouldn’t be necessary to repeat the same advice again, the public side is a different matter.
