ParticipantHi. I have used the forum information to find the error code (light flashing colours) for my drier as I have a fault which is “press the start button, machine starts then beeps and stops – have to do this two to three times before getting going”.
The test I used, moving the dial to a start point other than setting one, then holding start and any other button gave a clear result – 8 red followed by 3 green flashes on the start button.
Any assistance in translating this error message and pointing me towards the next best move really appreciated.
Steve

E83 dosen’t exsist but E82 doe’s and that means the main knob that you turn wasn’t quite in the correct posision when you tried to start it

H Captaincaveman1. Thank you so much for the reply and assistance.
I have tested the machine again and tried a number of different dial positions and get the same 8 red, 3 green flashes.
Perhaps I`m still missing something critical? I position the dial (anywhere other than position 1), press start and the button to its left and after a couple of seconds get three beeps and all the lights go out. I let go of the buttons and then I get 8 red followed by 3 green, then a pause followed by a constant flashing green and 4 of the other green lights on steady.
Tried this a few times with different dial positions and got the same results ever time.
Your thoughts on the next move appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

I think you are doing the test wrong TBH.
The correct procedure is :-
Start with Selector Dial in 12o’clock position power off.
Turn dial to 1o’clock position
Wait for lights to flash and buzzer sounds
Then press Start button and 1st Option button simultaneously
Hold until lights flash and buzzer sounds once again before releasing
Then turn dial clockwise to the 10th position
Count the red flashes for first digit of error code
Count the green flashes for the second digit of error code
Then return dial to off position.February 3, 2013 at 4:10 pm #389268madmatt

Hi Martin
Trying your test. Can you please confirm;
“Turn dial to 1 O`clock position” means move the dial clockwise from Off to the first position?
“Turn dial clockwise to the 10th position”. Does this mean exactly what you say – move the dial to the 10th position or does it mean move the dial on 10 clicks?
Sorry to sound like a numpty but I have yet to get a consistent result.
Thanks Steve

Hi Martin. Thanks again for the help.
I have followed your instructions carefully and have also used a handy teenager to check my work 🙂
If I do as you say, when I rotate the dial to the 75 position (10 clicks in), all I get is a flashing green Start/Pause plus 3 separate green led`s for Drying/cooling/end and one separate led for Cottons.
If I follow your instructions, but stop before rotating the dial, I get 8 reds and three greens.
Fault is still same. Load machine and press start button, machine starts then stops and beeps. Sometimes have to have two or three goes at this until it keeps going.
Any further assistance appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

Sounds like another one where the main PCB has failed then……. 🙁

Pants………..Any reason why I shouldn`t keep using it until it completely stops?
Is there a more conclusive way of testing the PCB – sounds expensive 🙁
