HI,,
After going into diagnostics it comes up with E54 (5 X Red + 4 X green)
I have fitted both capacitors to this both genuine as before it was just humming.
Could it be the motor or module ?
Any help much apprciated
If the motor is humming then the module is trying to power it and unless it is low voltage to the motor (unusual and unlikely fault) then I would be looking at the motor and/or capacitor.
Try flicking the drum round when the motor is humming and it should run – if not it may not be getting power.
Check the windings on the motor – there should be 4 connections, (disconnect capacitors for testing) between pins 1 and 2 should be around 58 Ohm and between pins 1 and 3 should be 29 ohms (also between 2 and 3).
Double check the capacitor – according to the service manual it should be 9uF rather than the usual 8uF.
Thanks Jem
I fitted both genuine capacitors for this model a few weeks ago
There is no humming from the motor, but you can hear a slight click coming from the module when its trying to switch the motor on I assume
