    Hello

    I hope someone can help.

I’ve got a Zanussi ZDE26100W tumble dryer and the belt has snapped. I have removed the top and I can see the snapped belt, but I’m struggling to see how to get to the motor to attach the new one. The rear of the dryer has no service panel, so I’ve tried to remove the rear panel completely, but it still seems to be attached at the bottom somehow. I’ve turned it on it’s side, but there are no obvious screws/bolts on the bottom of the unit. Any ideas, or am I approaching it from the wrong direction? Should I be trying to remove a side or the front?

    Thanks

You need to remove the cream coloured plastic back cover then remove the rear panel which covers the heater then looking from the back you need to remove the worktop and the left side panel altogether . Remove the screws dowm the right side securing the right side panel to the back but dont remove the side panel.Next under the heater is a screw remove this and then remove the circlip around the drum shaft in the middle of the rear bearing. The back panel will now pull back enough to place belt over the drum . Refit all covers and screws but leave left side panel off so you can tension the belt around the motor pulley wheel .Incidently the pulley wheel may be stiff and worn and thats why the belt has snapped.
