ParticipantMachine will not complete wash cycle. It starts the wash program and then after about 2 mins the temp and spin LEDs go out and time goes to Zero. It fills OK with thermostat disconnected so I replaced the Heating element (incl thermostat) but fault is still the same. displays error code E70 with thermostat disconnected and error E34 when running through diagnostics.
Tried blowing down the pressure switch hoses, no change. All other functions appear OK and machine appears to pass all checks when running through diagnostics, fills, spins, drains, etc. Last wash completed before issue started was a white cotton wash if that helps? E34 isn’t on the list of codes I’ve seen on UK Whitegoods web site, Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Can you check that model number again, better still the PNc number?

E34 is an imbalance between the two types of pressure switch. Which can often translate to a faulty electronic pressure switch, a filling error, faulty PCB or a wiring fault.
Take care not to blow into the electronic (analogic) pressure switch as that will render it useless. They fail on a regular basis by the way so it could be that but don’t hold me to it.

Hi Martin,
Thanks for the info. Is there anyway to prove the pressure switch before I replace it? Having already replaced the heating Element I just want to keep my spending to a minimum 🙂
Thanks again
Nigel

Nope, sorry, the odds are 5 to 1 it being faulty.

OK thanks, anything more than this and I’ll probably have to get an engineer I guess so I’ll get one ordered and let you know how it goes once I’ve installed it
Thanks

part arrived today, in stalled in the machine but still the same 🙁
This now looks like it could get expensive, having already replaced 2 items I can’t help think I may be better off quitting and getting a new machine.
Anything else I can try first?
Thanks

I had this problem with my Zanussi, sometimes it would start off fine, sometimes it would pump and go straight to zero and unlock the door. The codes would show mismatch between analogic and mechanical pressure switch. Then one day, when it was working, I noticed it wasn’t heating. Previous posters have indicated that problems with the heating can cause similar issues. The heater element was fine, the wiring through the anti boils was fine. I had the pcb out, upside down in the top of the machine, in the engineer mode where it is supposed to heat. No mains to heater (bear in mind the relay switches the neutral). Just putting my test prods onto the relay coil and I heard it click in. Dry joints on the coil pins of the relay! Re-soldered and washing like a hero ever since.
