Zanussi ZDF490X – very noisy cooling fan

Zanussi ZDF490X – very noisy cooling fan, oven is 3.5 years old.

Are there any known faults that can be easily fixed or does this mean a new fan unit.
In my opinion this should not have failed so soon into the ovens life, and should be covered under the sale of goods act.

The fan casing may have distorted with the heat and be straightenable. The fan end frame bearing may respond to a drop of oil. If the motor itself is noisy, you’ll have to replace the assembly.

At 3.5 years old, you have no chance of any claim under the Sale of Goods Act.

Power off if you plan to repair this yourself.

What makes you say that, when the “Sale Of Goods Act” clearly states the following:
• For up to six years after purchase (five years from discovery in Scotland) purchasers can demand damages (which a court would equate to the cost of a repair or replacement).

Seems as though the problem is caused by lateral movement of the fan blades during operation. a small washer inserted on the shaft has cured it for now.

Have mailed Zanussi regarding lifetime expectancy of fan assembly and await reply.
