Zanussi zdp7205pz tumble dryer

I’ve done a search but cannot find anything specific to help with my dunce-like mulimeter abilities.

I’ve a Zanussi zdp7205pz tumble dryer that’s not heating. The only thermostat i can find is on the heater unit and that has continuity.

On the heater plug I’ve got continuity between the white and black wires (both in the red wire protection sheath) and continuity between the two black wires (in the white wire protection sheath).

Before spending £100 on a heater unit:
1) is there another thermostat somewhere?
2) do the results suggest heater is knackered?
3) any another issues I’m not thinking of?
