ParticipantDishwasher sounds like a pump is running continuously trying to empty the water. A very well known problem as per previous threads.
Only a power off will stop the pump. Dishwasher is empty.
Research tell me it’s an anti-flood issue. There’s water somewhere it shouldn’t be and when it’s detected, the m/c turns on the pump continuously.
I get that. But where is this water? Research says ‘in the base of the m/c’.
Attached filters pic is as far south as I can see inside the unit and there’s no water there (oooopps – won’t allow newbie pics bigger than 20K !!!!)
There’s also no water on the floor. Where else can I look?
I assume there’s some panel I can take off to get access to the water and the associated flood detector float/switch.
But which panels?
Any help or suggestions to remedy would be much appreciated.

Moderatorshould be a cover below the door
remove and water should be in there
also some of these units need modifying for this particular problem which means altering the way the unit detects water levels

ParticipantThanks Dave. You mean on the front of the machine? So no need to pull it out as it’s built-in.
Is there any source for diagrams and/or manuals that show the breakdown of these machines?
You say “units need modifying” – in what sense do you mean? An adjustment?

Moderatorneed a picture of the sump from the inside to see what it looks like
you will have to host the pic on an external site and post a public link
open door take out filter and anything else and take pic of the floor

Moderatoryours is ok
it has already been modifiedso you need to mop out the water from underneath, then before you replace the cover
run the machine and watch with a torch to see if you can see any leaksif none, close it back up and see how it goes. clean at the bottom of the door where the seal is a people dont see the muck that builds up

ParticipantINTERIM REPORT:
Dave, you are the man!!
Panel off and there I find about half an inch of water. Mopped it up and dried it out. Switch on and no more running pump!!
Now to test for leaks and clean off any gunk.

ParticipantHi Dave,
As a man of over 10K posts I do appreciate your time and interest.
OK, one full cycle completed and no leaks visible.
But does make me wonder what happened to cause the pooling.
One more question please:
If I remove the black salt input cap (visible on the zoomed out earlier picture) it is full to the brim with water.
Is that normal?
MOTFJune 18, 2020 at 2:37 pm #469771electrofix
Moderatoryes its normal
machine may have had a bad day, plate in the wrong place forcing water past the seals, too much foam, get that when fairy liquid creeps in or over dosing of rinse aid
