    Hello all,

This fridge/freezer is 12 years old. A few days ago I noticed the ‘Too Warm’ indicator was showing in the fridge and also ice-creams had started to get too soft in the freezer. I turned up the termostat to 6 (highest) but 2 days later it was still too warm. I have now pulled out the fridge and vacuumed all the dust off the condenser pipes.

It is making all the right noises, but is just not cold enough. Any clues where to start looking for problems and what can I fix , or do I have to get the repair man in ?

    many thanks for any advice

if the compressor is running and gets very hot, but the evaporator is not getting cold enough for frost to form on the surface , i’d guess that the machine has lost refrigerant…..regas is not usually viable,-especially if there’s a leak to be traced and rectified……valves can go U/S in the compressor…..same thing….uneconomic.

I am NOT a whitegoods engineer, so don’t hang on to my words as gospel….it’s just a guess! 🙂
