I have the above fridge/freezer but the fridge compartment is accumulating a mass of ice like a frozen waterfall at the back only on the left, although we are not suffering from frozen food.

Is this a thermostat issue or something more sinister? If I need a part, I am an engineer and believe that I could fit it given some guidance.

    Any help really appreciated.

More sinister I’m afraid. This sounds very much like either an insulation or system problem.

Possibly an internal gas leak or the compressor is failing, both are not easy or cheap to rectify. If it’s insulation it’s terminal.

As the unit is getting on for eight years, it may be time to consider a replacement to be honest from the symptoms you describe.

Thank you for your prompt reply. Was considering getting a Miele fridge/freezer. Have a Miele washing machine but not sure how good fridges are.

if considering a Meile the also consider a Liebherr as they make the refrigeration for Meile,Consider the cost difference due to name badge.

Thanks once again for your prompt replies. I did notice that the Mieles look very similar to Liebherrs. Do Liebherr make cranes for Miele too?? 😆

This is getting expensive – £800 for the washing machine and now this. Anyway, both my Zanussi appliances have lasted 8 years so I am fairly happy.
