ParticipantThis machine is not turning on at all. I have tested the socket and changed the fuse. A faint light will show on the display if I turn the selector dial fast enough, but apart from that it seems to be brown bread. Is there any straight forward way to reset the electronics that might make a difference?
The only possible reason I can think it has failed is that a plumber may have kneeled on top of the unit when he was trying to get access to the heating system behind it last week. I don’t know if that could do damage or not, but apart from that it was fine the last time I used it.

OK, The unit started to work intermittently yesterday, but the electronics seem to be temperamental – possibly due to condensation. For example it was only 5 or 6 seconds after turning the selector dial that the display lighting and start button light would come on. Usually that would happen immediately. In any case once it was working it completed a full wash cycle.
Today it stopped working again. Hence I think it is a problem of condensation caused by being in a fairly warm cupboard that contained some damp clothes. After the plumber had been I think the temperature reduced in the cupboard and therefore the damp clothing and warm air may have caused the problem. If anyone knows a good way to deal with this I’d appreciate the advice?

I have the same washer and it just started to have this same issue today.
I left it on and when I checked it an hour later it was ready to be used and worked fine for a full cycle. As soon I turned it off and on again the same issue occurred but I left it for now.
I don’t think its condensation on my machine as its in a cupboard that is aired and we never dry any clothes in there.
I think its because the capacitors on the board and starting to fail and would like to replace them (I’ve had many years of experience soldering and fixing electronics). The only thing stopping me is finding instructions on how to open the thing! Does anyone have any ideas before I start forcing it apart?

THE first thing we in the repair business would check its earth insulation. More washer dryers suffer from earth leaks and the dryer element is the usual cause. Especially so if you don’t use the dryer much.
Earth leaks affect the electronics resulting in the machines erratic behaviour such as postees in this thread describe.
So start by checking the heater. If you are none the wiser then call out a local independent repairer who can sort it for you. 😀
