Came home today to be greeted by our 13 month old Zanussi ZNB3850S beeping. The fridge section is fine but the freezer is alarming and is only a few degrees cooler than the fridge.

We bought this one to replace a 4 year old ZX99/5 with a bust compressor. Hopefully this one is fixable.

    Any ideas?

    thanks

I’m not familiar with the model. Is it a single or twin compressor as, if it’s a single, I’d suspect the compressor TBH. They use cheapo compressors etc. to get the costs down as well as a range of other accountant friendly measures.

That said, some of the electronic trickery (which is largely not required IMO but people do like digital displays…) can generate all sorts of weird errors in some of the newer Electrolux machines.

Its a single compressor frost free fridge freezer. We’ve taken all the food out of the freezer part and I’ve been monitoring it over night. Fridge is definitely ok – the freezer has made it down to -5C and is still stuck in alarm. The compressor is coming on ok and leaving it set in fast freeze mode doesn’t improve things…..
