    Summary:

What are the possible causes for having no hot water in a Zanussi ZSF4126 slimline dishwasher?

    Detail:

Our dishwasher needed cleaning so we purchased a Finish cleaning detergent. After running programme “B” (65 degrees) we were surprised that the cleaning fluid was still in the bottle; in other words the detergent bottle seal had not melted. We tried programme “A” (70 degrees) and still the detergent had not been released.

I ran an experiment to determine whether the water ever got hot. I started programme “A” and the “wash” LED came on. I opened the door after about 5 minutes. I guess this was during the pre-wash cycle. The water was cold but perhaps the pre-wash cycle might be programmed to cold? I closed the door and waited until the dishwasher had drained and refilled. I waited a further five minutes. I opened the door and the water was cold. I closed the door and waited until the dishwasher emptied. This time the “drying” LED came on so I knew I had tested all of the wet cycles.

It might be significant to point out that I cancelled the programme at this point so I can’t comment as to whether the drying cycle heats correctly.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you!

In depth discussion of the possibilities may be found here:

Full size machine, but basics still apply.

Power off before removing any panel.
