been to this beast and entered into diognostics which threw up E72 code for dryer NTC however dryer element very low insulation (less than 2 megg). Ive read on the forums that these are a problem on these wd’s.
Customer fell out with m/c she gained it when she moved into the new build and never uses the dryer, wants a bosh washer only. I was wondering how to access the element though looks like a pig to change ? 😡May 26, 2010 at 6:10 pm #320885Martin

Remove the screw at the front of the heater box and the 2 screws holding it to the crossbar. Then the screw holding it to the fan housing and the screws holding the fan housing to the cabinet and crossbar. Remove terminals (noting their positions) and unscrew element from casing.
Simples!!!!!!

Once again thanks Martin ! Unfortunately customer is adament she wants a new washer, she seems to resent having the dryer fixed as she never uses that part. It’s a shame because it’s a tidy m/c. :rolls:

Why not just safely disconnect the dryer element, tying up the terminals out of the way? Then the machine can be used perfectly well as a washer only.
Always remembering that customer’s always right of course. Guess she will have her reasons. :rolls:

That did cross my mind Mike but i wasn’t 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure it would work and the lady who informed me she works in the courts, and mentioned the abundence of health & safety cases they see these days didn’t seem to keen on the idea ! 😯

ParticipantThe machine will work fine on the wash cycle with all 4 heater terminals disconnected. You can tie the 4 leads safely out of the way so that it can be repaired later if the customer decides that they want the dryer working (they sometimes do come October!)
Steve.
