Went to a Zanussi ZWD 1270W (PNC 914653319) W/D with the dryer elements only heating for a few minutes, then cutting out, although the dry cycle continued as if they were. This was on all drying pgms.

Elements were OK, fan starting OK, water valve opening OK, no blockages, all passages clear.

I renewed the NTC on top front of drying manifold, renewed the probe down on RHS, also replaced the connectors to the probe, as we know this wire can break and cause problems.

After this the drying elements would not power up at all! Fan and water valve still OK, program seemed normal just no heat.

I am puzzled that no error codes show up. Anyway I have ordered a new module from Connect, assuming it is the dryer heater relay on the board.

Meanwhile can someone please tell me if there are any diagnostics that I can run, preferably before I fit a brand new module! Or any other (polite) suggestions…

    Cheers
    Mike

So, the situation was actually worse after all your work 😕 .
We’ve all been there! My theory is that you’ve somehow made a bad crimp as it’s not all that accessible down there in the dark and miserable depths of the condenser to tub hose.
If not, would have thought it worth cutting open the dryer relay with Stanley knife to see if contacts are burnt. Don’t ask me which one it is though!
    Mike.
