The machine will pump out at the beginning of any programme as it should, but then it stops with the start/pause light flashing. The door interlock also unlocks. Pump is ok, solenoids and motor check out ok. the drying programmes work perfectly. I feel I am missing something simple here. Any ideas please? Or is this one of those reprogramming jobs that only Zanussi can do? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. Steve.

If the start/pause light is flashing between red and green then count the red flashes followed by the green flashes to find out what the error code is or enter diagnostics to do the same. Also check the insulation especially on the drier heating element as Zanussis get tetchy when the insulation value drops below 40Meg and in my experience very tetchy when the drier element gets to about 3 Meg.

Not yet come across one opening the door for low insulation but maybe that’s what Jem meant by, “very tetchy.” I’ve not had the pleasure of meeting one below 3 Megs yet.
There are some faults, can’t remember which, which are mentioned in the diagnostics schedule as opening the door.

Cheers Jem. It would seem that your assessment was correct. I checked out the dryer heaters, one read 50 megs, the other 10 megs. After disconnecting the heaters, the machine fired up ok. Reconnecting the heaters did not reinstate the fault, and it has been working ok for over a month now. Clearly there is some point where the dryer causes a fault, but I have left it as it is for now. New tenant in a rented house and all that. Thanks once again. Steve.
