ParticipantHi folks
Been to this today and m/c dead no display – nothing. Tested continuity as far as module board – ok. Checked socket – ok. Pretty sure this is the main module board/selector but just wanted to check with you guys if anyone else has had this on these m/c or could it be anything else?
ps – disconected heaters just in case but made no difference.
Help and comments appreciated.

PCBs on these have been going dead with no burn marks, check the usual suspects, valves, heaters, mtor, interlock before fitting new PCB

Thanks Seamy
Just wondered if these modules are prone to just failing other that cause and effect.
thanks for the reply

I think there’s something somewhere on here about them dying when the machine is turned off during a spin! If it’s true, I imagine it is a purely unintentional design fault. I think it’s also been mentioned that it can be lightning damage but presumably that would leave marks.

Have an identical machine with the very same fault I’ve been to today.
Had you any luck curing it Mick?
Last time I had one of these(I think I posted the tale about a customer switching it off on spin before it went dead) I sent it to EMW but they couldn’t help.Any fresh ideas for a fix anyone?
Thanks,
Eddie.

yeh emw only seem to do all-in-one fascia panel type lux pcb repairs, although i havent come across one of the dual board lux’s that have a module issue without visible burnouts.
Always worth checking the on/off moicroswitch on the display board, and a break in the plastic “spring” legs between fascia button and display pcb.
is there defo power going to the pcb, and not residual pickup from other wires, and if no power sensed on cable, these lux cables are quite short and plug is worth a look as there were two types of moulded ones fitted. chunky ones, and the ones with 2x triangular indents in the outside face of plug. sometimes chunky ones have problems at the neck of the plug, so continuity check between pins and terminal box inside machine.
Obv Also check motor wiring, and depending on age, carbons, worked on a zwf1237 the other day which wouldnt turn on, fascia switch cover had been “glued” in place with sugary drink…

Yeah cheers gandh, was def getting 240 at input to pcb, popped cover off select sw to check as many contacts etc as I could see. seems to be working as it should.
For the tip methinks. 2008 model :rolls:
