Participantlikely that something is jamming the pump or dryer element has low insulation resistance.
all later zanussis will pump a couple of times before starting a fill, but if the pump is jammed it will abort, also make sure youre pump wiring is connected and not chewed thru 😀 theres a front filter on these be prepared with towels and low baking trays. look for thin things like cocktail sticks, matches, paperclips, shirt collar inserts, hair grips, or elastic bands wrapped around the little impellor. it doesnt take a lot of friction to overide the power of the pump
try that first as the dryer element requires decent kit or experience to verify it checks out, multimeters only prove their continuity, unless you order one on a hunch, but thats about £60… and other parts arent exactly cheap either. so if its not blocked id book an engineer… tand make sure you ask them if they know how to interpret zanussis shall we say, vague, diagnostics system

Hi Guys
I have a zanussi ZWD1427OW1 that just will not start.
You can select program, select spin speed etc, light comes on and flashes to push for start, push start and green start light stays on,door is locked ok, window show time left to go in wash and counts down..no drain pump noise or hum… it does nothing else..no water intake, no drum action…just nothing.I forgot to say…drain pump does not even attempt to start.
Any ideas would be welcomeMay 25, 2011 at 10:56 pm #352190Applianceman2010

Have you checked to make sure its defo not blocked/pump isn’t duff I’ve noticed they don’t always Humm anymore if they are jammed. If it all checks out ok check if you are getting voltage to the pump. Start from there I would say…

I agree with insulation fault on dryer heaters – had some strange faults on these machines as of late

Good work gandh1. That is what I call on the ball! Answering before question is asked. You could save us all a lot of time if you can keep that up. 😆
