Machine is totally dead. Stopped mid cycle. There is live and neutral present at the main fascia board. Removed for for physical examination – no signs of damage. Is this a common failure for this type of board? Has anyone had one successfully repaired by QER? They are showing a 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} success rate, not too high in my book. I am very reluctant to buy a new board (£101 from connect and out of stock)to find out, a) it’s not that, or b) it blows up when I turn it on.Anybody got any ideas? Am I asking too many bleeding question?

    Cheers all,

    Dave

since the board is dead its either going to be a power supply fault or its toast

you can normally get an idea by finding the switch mode power supply unit and measuring the output. to get an idea of wht to expect look at the relays on the board if they are 12v expect around that. if you are not gettinh that and when you measure the voltage it seems to bob up and down then there is a short somewhere on the board
hope you understand have tried to keep it simple can be a bit high tech for some people

Thanks for the reply, Dave. At the moment, it doesn’t look like the job is going ahead now, so panic over.

    Cheers,

Don’t forget the usual fault with these machines – drier heater to earth. This will cause ‘dead’ faults; the common giveaway is the door locks and then unlocks again then ‘End’ in the display or totally dead. Unplug the drier heater and try again. 😉

    Steve.
