Zanussi ZWF 1430W flashing lights code ERR / 2.02

Sister’s Zanussi ZWF1430W powers up but when any of the buttons on the facia are pressed the lights associated with that button flash/bleep rapidly 3 times.

Reset Button found stuck in so repaired.

Problem as described persists and as the lights flash the display switches from 2.02 to ERR then back to 2.02

Any help/advice greatly appreciated,

this is a long shot but have had connection problems on the front panel of this type of machine before

there is a 4 wire lead going from the main board to the front user panel. unplug machine,disconnect this lead. plug machine back in , turn machine on, wait 10 secs, turn machine off and unplug, reconnect lead, switch on and try
