Zanussi ZWF 1432 W – problem

I have a Zanussi – ZWF 1432 W washing machine (for reference the user manual also covers the ZWF 1432 S, and the ZWF 1632 W). I have had the machine for about two years. It has always worked well, apart for
last week, where it has developed a worsening problem to the extent that I am now unable to use the machine.

Last week the end light on the control panel kept flashing, and beebing continuously for no apparent reason. In order to cure this I switched the machine off overnight and then tried to use it again. The machine worked on and off for the last few days, however the problem has now got worse The end light on the control panel just keeps flashing and beeping continuously. I am unable to select any other setting, thus meaning the machine is useless. If I turn the machine off and switch it back on this does not cure the problem.

I am no expert on these things, but it sounds to me like a software problem? Is there a way to reset the machine? If I can’t reset, how would I go about replacing the part that is faulty? Are these things as easy as computers to repair, where you just have circuit boards slotted together? I don’t know a lot about washing machines, however I am quite practically minded and do all my own car repairs etc. Any advice would be appreciated

How many flashes do you get of the Start/Pause light before there is a break in the sequence of flashes?
