Good evening all,
The drum on my zanussi washing machine is seized solid and will not rotate. The drive belt has snapped and it looks as if the motor spindle has burnt the rubber belt in half. I would like advice on the following points:
1. Have the bearings seized or has something else happened.
2. If the bearings need to be replaced is it worth buying a rear half outer tub complete with bearings and seals fitted.

If you apply some BFI, can you move the drum? Jamming solid can be caused by a sock becoming caught under or behind the inner drum. Unless the spin has been noisy for a while……
Bearing kit will be considerably cheaper than buying a tub half and lets you celebrate the joy of weilding a big hammer. Additionally, you would need a tube centre seal and. obviously, the belt.
