Participantplease have some advise zanussi washing machine mod zwf12070w1 .making racket noise when spinning. have not seen machine.seem like bearings.
from what i am told after the wash their is bits of burned rubber in the drum .
can the bearing be changed on this machine or is it a sealed drum. and if the can what is the best way to tackle it.
and do you need any spec tools. it is leaking as well the machine is only 2years or so old thanks for any help. fasetester

thanks guys for the replys. as martin said it is a sealed tub. what do you think her chances are of getting it fixed under guarntee. i told her to go back to the shop and complain. the advised her to buy this machine.
would she not be able to get it fixed not being fit for porpise. she is single parent family with 2 childern.

If the machine is LESS than 2 years old she may be able to get her local Service Force network dealer to do a concessionary repair, possible HALF normal price? She would need proof of purchase though and to ask them nicely. 😉
The local retailer however would not entertain any such dealings or give any refund. The customer would have to prove to the retailer that the product was ‘not fit for purpose’. The product was sold with a compulsory 12 months guarantee and thereafter have a choice of extending the warranty or simply not bothering and letting fate decide its future. 😈

Did you go and look at the w/m after because the rubber bits could be bits of door gasket or drum from a coin or something going round in the drum…..? 😐

fase, theres 2x options, get a tub from electrolux which i was able to do last time for 99inc vat, and charge about £60 for the labour, the spare tub came with decent built bearings, the knackered one that came out had nasty cheap unbranded types. had a look at a couple of old 1211s and aw1001s too when they first had sealed tubs, they still seem to be holding on ok, and have smae bearings as the ones in the spare part. my gut feeling is a huge batch of zanussis had poor quality ones fitted as a spec change for cost cutting on the 12070s as they all seem to be on the same 2x pnc codes
boschs that start wae/was will have screwed tubs.
select waa boschs have sealed tubs – not all mind, but remember most waa’s are the nasty ones, basic rule of thumb is if the door has the square handle lever, it should be avoided. if its got the D shape lever then theyre reasonable quality…
