ParticipantWent to a Zanussi ZWF12070 Washer (PNC 914521912/00) with all functions OK except no voltage to heating element on hot pgms. Element and wiring to it and heat probe are fine. Customer said hot pgms were “running on and on, filling and emptying” but 40 degree pgms and below were OK.
Can someone tell me correct resistance of the heat probe (fits into heating element)? I got 6.64 Kohm at 16 degrees Centigrade
Assuming the probe is OK I have to decide whether to replace the module, which is the oblong fascia-mounted EZ type. There are no signs of burned relay or soldered joint on the board. Am I correct in assuming a module failure?
Any advice appreciated, as always!

The correct model number is ZWF12070W1, i’d try changing the heater first, theres an inbuilt fuse in both legs of the element & they could be going open circuit under load. Depending on which NTC is used they should give approx’ readings of 6400 ohms at 20C it should go down to 600 ohms at 80C, the reading you posted looked right enough.
What fault code did you get on the appliance?August 31, 2012 at 12:47 am #380390myfil

Hi Seamy.
Yes you are right about the model no.
The heater shows the correct DC resistance on a meter, so is not open circuit. I ran the machine for 15 or 20 mins on the 90 degree pgm and at no time did any voltage appear across the heater. I did not get any fault code. Neither has the customer had one. Does it not sound like a module fault?August 31, 2012 at 12:58 am #380391leavemetogetonwithit

Mike
Is it, or was it before you moved it, syphoning?
If not that, EMW may do these modules, not sure. Would make sense to run diagnostics. PDF should be on Connect mediator.

Not siphoning, as I checked for that. I have sent the module to EMW for testing/repair.
My Zanussi is out of date. Could you email me the PDF? I will need the test procedure. Cheers.

Got the module back from EMW, repaired (they are brilliant – couldn’t live without them!) and fitted it, and heater circuit and all else working OK. Thanks for the stuff Mike.
