Zanussi ZWF12070W taking 2 attempts to start

Hi

Sorry to sign up and come straight in with a problem.
Got the zanussi mentioned above. About a week back it started needing the start button pressed twice before it does anything.

I load it up, select the program and press start.
I hear the click which I guess is the door lock engaging and then a few seconds later the start button starts flashing again.

If I start it the second time it starts as expected and the full cycle completes without issue.

It just needs to be started twice every time.

Any ideas what might be wrong or anything to check.
I have switched it off at the mains and left it off for about 12 hours and no change.

It might be a door switch problem or could be board fault or button issue, or cable to door interlock either.

Ha, nice and specific.

I have no idea what I am doing with a washing machine.
What should I do/look for?

Hi: In all honesty, if you don’t know anything about Washing machines your safest bet would be to look for a repairer local to you.
You could also try looking in the repairs at feature of UK Whitegoods.

I’ve no issue taking my computer apart and had no issue with changing the engine on my car, a washine machine cant be so complicated.

If only they did Zanussi Haynes Manual!

You may not have an issue with takeing your computer apart, but by your own admission you know nothing about washing machines. If you open your machine up & do the wrong thing you could easily Electrocute :zap: yourself, in his reply to your original question Seamy gave you the possible causes of your problem. Unfortunately it could be any 1 of the items listed & you need to go through them with a test meter to locate your problem, to do this you need to know how each item is supposed to work or react when tested.
