Participantas above.
just fills and fills.
model details are:
pnc 914215204-04
snc 73500012did diagnostics which confirmed it was pressure switch, solenoids or pcb.
fortunately i happen to have taken out a 1211 a few weeks back that a kid shoved a load of pens and pencils in thats jammed up the drum and knackered it, so whipped off aforementioned 3 components.
so fitted the p/s and inlet valves and it still keeps filling to over the chamfer of the glass bowl. so swapped pcb over too and after draining it still fills to over that level.
so i thought maybe theres a hole in the top of the drum or an air leak at the least thats not allowing the p/s to activate but popped the hose off it and u heard the woosh of air pressure being released, so it cant be that. i then also blew hard into the p/s whilst it was filling and that wouldnt shut it off either.
also checked all terminals connected between pcb and p/s and no cut wires either.
incidentally unlike every other recent zanussi, because its just a constant stream of filling, it doesnt get to the second bout of filling a few minutes in and therefore hasnt agitated at all during filling, but it will spin fine on spin or drain programs…
so yeah, im baffelled because i know the parts i swapped over were working. any help? please?!?
ps thanks in advance

Is the P/S making the appropriate clicking sounds as you blow into it .. ie. 1, 2, or 3 clicks as it is staging

Have you checked that the electrics are actually switching on the P/S using a continuity tester

yep. theres continuity between all connections of each wire from the p/s.
one of the first things i checked before swapping out
literally doing my head in as i promised it back by friday :bang:

Have you checked which of the wires is providing a possitive feed to the inlet valves and then trace it back to make sure that it is not receiving a supply from an alien source?

bazinger!
teeny bit loose connection on the heater element. eaarth was wrapped around it and appears to have tugged it a bit.
reseated and a-ok.
now ill just swap pcb back to see if old one was ok.
cheers A/S!

old pcb was fine after all too, but it had my doubts as it had obv been running hot as the sticky lable had shrunk and crinkled.
really odd tho – zanussi service manual has high opinion of their self-test prior to washing, which doesnt pick up the dropped connection BEFORE filling. massive design flaw imo, because fortunately the customers were cooking at the time, but had they not been at home or even just in another room, they would have walked back in to a swimming pool rather than a kitchen 😯
id be interested if anyones in the know as to whether zanussi have paid out on any compensation claims, cos out of curiosity when i checked my “parts” 1211, it also had the earth wrapped around the heater connection, so i would be sceptical of it being an isolated incident!
