ParticipantIf I have clothing with the standard 50deg C symbol, can someone tell me which wash program I should use on the ZWF? Only the manual shows this symbol, but doesn’t tell you what program to use for it, and while the machine does 60C, 40C and 30C, there’s no 50C ?? Many thanks….

Strange beast, the user manual……. I have had a read of the technical info relating to this machine and….. there’s no 50c programme! That being the case, always select the next programme down, so 40c cottons or easy cares for any items with the 50c symbols.

Hi,
For what it’s worth, the latest machines seem to be made without the “minimum iron” programme ( the old 4/50 washtub symbol).
Mentioned previously in another thread, my mother’s Hoover AC327 finally conked out. The module attached to the timer had a burnt-out component. The motor commutator didn’t look too great either, so my mum bought a Bosch Exxcel WFX 2868 (if I remember correctly!).
This model has no 50 degree programme of any kind, which I also found strange. It must be something to do with cost-cutting.

The clothing labels for current clothes no longer list a 50c cycle (usually Easy Cares), so the manufacturers follow suit. 10 years ago a temperature range of 40/50/60/90(95) was very common. Now it runs 30/40/60/90. There are machines available which no longer offer a 90c option!
