Zanussi ZWF1227W error – help

Hi, our washing machine takes water into the drum as per usual, makes a ticking noise when drum is turning, spins for a couple of minutes, then stops. It gives an error 20 message when it eventually times out.

When put on the drain cycle to empty the machine, it does nothing, then gives E20 error message.

Any suggestions or are we looking at a new machine??

Check the filter and that nothing is fouling the pump. Turn the drum by hand and see if you can hear the ticking noise.

Hi, the ticking sound is there when I turn the drum. I cleaned the filter earlier and lots of water came out. Still doesn’t work though!

There’s something blocking the pump impeller and, most probably, something like a bra wire or some such stuck between the tub and drum.

Time for a closer look.

Take the belt off and turn the drum and see if the ticking is still there
