Zanussi ZWF14791W Prod: 914523600 Drum Pulley fouling tub

Good morning all,

Wondering if anyone can advise on the above problem.

The drum pulley on the above washer has worked its way into the outer tub, and broken the drive belt.

Upon inspection ( not stripped down yet) the bearings appear fine, and there is no excessive free play in the drum shaft.

I have come across this problem on other m/c’s where the bearings/shaft have been severely worn.

Is it feasible to add a large washer or two to the shaft, and then re-fit the pulley, thus moving the pulley away from the outer tub?

The m/c is only two years old, and I have tried contacting Zanussi/Electrolux regarding this premature failure.

However, I’ve not been able to obtain any feedback yet, though don’t expect the customer will get any contribution from them anyway.
