    Zanussi ZWG 7140p fault

We inherited this machine a few years ago I guess it is 6+ yrs old.

A few months ago we noticed that although the machine worked ok, the front panel illumination was intermittent, it would flicker. Then as we wanted to use the machine it would not illuminate at all when we selected the mode wash we wanted. Selecting off and then re-choose the mode, occasional unplug power cycle it would come to life and work. However, the other day it stopped mid cycle and will not respond any longer.

I have taken the lid off and verified it is getting 240v power to the PSU. The PSU board has no evidence of a failed component or burn marks around any component. The front panel is getting some DC voltage down the connector wire. But I don’t know where to go next to identify the fault.

    Please help

    Thanks

    Thanks for your advice,

It all looks ok inside, no apparent damage.

The machine stopped half full of liquid, is there another filter/pump that may have caused it to stop?

board controls the pump not the other way around.
even if the pump had failed it would still light up

    Many thanks for your help.

The machine is now working. I was lucky enough to find a replacement user interface off ebay, just happened to find an exact match part for sale. So for £18 I now have a happy wife.

    Thanks
