ParticipantHi,
I have a Zanussi ZWG1120M machine. About 4 years old but very light use. Just moved house, connected it all up.
Problem is that it turns on, I can select program and start. But in about 20 seconds time the screen goes black and the whole machine powers off.
If you unplug and re-plug the machine comes back to life, but the same happens again.
Just found that even leaving it idle for 10-20secs the machine shuts down. No error message just total power loss.
Any help/ideas?
Thanks

Try a multimeter/test meter, check heater & motor in particular foe low resistance to earth.
Presuming its not losing power because of supply problem, try plugging into different socket.December 3, 2015 at 11:52 am #433364rockm8n

Ok, Thanks Seamy
I will try with multi-meter tonight. I will also try new power outlet… electrics in the new house are questionable.
Ill let you know how I get on.

Hi Seamy
Had another go tonight. No luck!
I tried different power source using extension leads. I shied away from using the multimeter as house isnt RCD protected. I did however go through all ‘power hungry’ components one by one by unplugging them individually and ‘rebooting’ the machine i.e. unplugging the machine disconnecting the motor connection, replugging and turning on. Tried this also with all pumps, door lock and heater. But same result, machine comes on chirping with happiness (barr the error message saying door is faulty etc) can turn the wheel select programs, but in 30odd seconds machine powers off and becomes lifeless. Unplugging and only after leaving for a few minutes wakes it up again..thinking the waiting is a capacitor discharging…?
Sadly thinking it is the PCB? What do you hypothesise?
Cheers
p.s. Yes I checked the plug also
