Participantthis is doing my nut 😡 help, wasnt spinning or washing filled , brushes well down , fitted new ones . goes through wash spins for a bit , then stops door light flashes and goes back to original time . any clues lads , dont know why i bother . new zanussi stuff is garbage 😈

sound like the programmer is crashing.
have you tried another socket?
did you check last fault code ?Dave

Not sure what you mean, it washes OK then? When does it spin or do you mean it goes tacho crazy during the wash?

no gradual spin as normal .. then just before main spin aborts . the carbons seem a bit noisy . wonder if its poor carbons , i wonder mmm? . and no there not in wrong way round :hazmat:

i think so sounds a bit like it . but most do till bed in ? a tiny bit not ?. i have cleaned amature

you will have to look at the motor as it is trying to spin. if its sparking a lot you may have to remove the brushes and remove the high spots
excessive sparking can crash the programmerDave

Getting a lot of qualtex brushes with the wrong angle cut on the tip.

was talking to the Qualtex rep about that only last week. He said he was unaware of the problem.
about time we started telling them as they cant fix what they dont knowDave

Yes have had to resort to filing to a 45 degree angle as some of them are 30 degrees. Oddly some of the same part no are ok.

👿 well back to this today . with new set of carbons much better , chamfer on them and sounded a lot better ,. thought id cracked it , went through programme till half way through final spin . and done same . gutted ,fault code , is e 31 . but cant see how as fills and washes fine , blew down pressure switch and pipe , still same . gave up , pisst off 😕 even tried a new socket , but no diff ,as someone said , but cant see how that would make a diff any way mmm :con: should never have bothered, zanussi are garbage appliances now :death:

They are fine as machines go. The one causing all your frustration is a conventional Zanussi, not new at all. I appreciate your getting angry over not finding the solution. Happens to us all every now and then.
In this case, yes you fitted suspect brushes but maybe, just maybe the motor was knackered anyway? A couple of blown segments perhaps? Who knows? We can only guess. It only takes one faulty component like that motor for the program to throw up all kinds of erroneous error codes. Sh- it happens but don’t lose faith in Zanussi’s, Hotpoint yes not Zanussi’s they are great money makers.
What I’ve learnt from this thread is that certain Qualtex brushes are duff. That’s a new one on me and I must keep my good eye on that in future :rolls:
