I have a Zanussi ZWH6140p Product number 914906414-01 It is getting stuck after the drain cycle & will not move on to spinning etc. I have checked & cleaned out the filter. Not all of the water is drained from the machine, there is still some water covering the filter (not sure if this is normal) but the water is clear of the drum. On this model the filter is under one of the drum paddles. I have renewed the drain pump & the analogic pressure switch. I have checked for blockages of the pipe attached to the pressure switch & this is fine. I am still having the same fault, (there are no fault codes).

If I use an Aqua Vac to help pump out the water from the drain hose it will then move on & spin.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be the problem? Any help much appreciated.

There has to be something stuck between the filter and the pump. Where does the drain hose terminate? If it’s coupled to the sink there could be a blockage there too.

Thank you for your reply. When I replaced the pump I also checked for any blockage through to the filter, it was clear. The drain hose terminates into a standpipe which is ventilated so if the drain was blocked it would overflow at this point, it doesn’t. The sink drains ok through this drain too. I have seen on-line that it says about checking the sump where the pressure switch pipe is connected, but they show a flexible rubber sump. My model has a solid plastic housing where the pipe is connected. Could there be a blockage here?

I have blown down the pipe at the pressure switch & I can hear bubbles coming from the housing, which would seem to indicate that it is clear. I have removed the pipe from the housing & inserted a small drill bit into the housing which also seems to be clear. Does this housing come apart somehow it looks as if it does but I don’t want to break anything?

Don’t mess with the pressure switch system as that has nothing to do with the drain problem you have. You’ve blown down the pipe and it’s clear so put back together if I were you.

Double check the drain filter in the tub to ensure it is located correctly and that the one way valve operates freely?

If you’re up to blowing down the pressure tube then you could easily remove the sump filter and then blow up the drain hose to check if the system is clear back to the machine? 💡

OK I have removed the filter & blown back up the drain hose. There is no restriction & this causes massive bubbles.

Has your drain hose been extended in any way? And you are sure the sink coupling is not restricted?

I think I have fixed the problem. (Sorry but despite your warning not to mess with the pressure switch system) I found out how to dismantle were the end of the pressure switch pipe fits into the drum. There is a chamber that runs down to the filter. This was completly blocked with lime scale. I have cleaned it out & at the moment the machine is working fine. Thank you for all your help.
