Zanussi ZWNB6120L door can be opened during cycle

I was repairing a tumble dryer today and I was talking to the client about her new washing machine (bearings had gone in the old one and she didn’t want to fix it). She was telling me that she has managed to flood the kitchen twice in the three weeks she’s had it.
She sets it to the 30 wash, it runs for a while then pauses for a few minutes. She has thought it was finished, opened the door and soaked herself. Once it starts up again it locks itself, it’s only during this pause that it can be opened.
I haven’t tried it myself – I didn’t think I would be too popular flooding the kitchen to prove a point.

Has anyone else heard of this happening?

Sigh….moved to correct forum. This is not a ‘General Trade’ question.
I wonder if we just deleted these posts, would it make people take a bit more care, possibly not. :rolls:

surprised really that it would fill up high enough on a 30 wash to even reach the door yet alone flood the kitchen.

It looked like the correct forum. I’m not asking how to fix it, or what is causing it, I have just stated a fact that this is happening and asked if anyone else has come across it.

I didn’t push her for the amount of water – a drip out of the door seal is a flood to some people. I think it was a dedicates wash.

By any definition it was a technical trade QUESTION tinfish and NOT a general trade COMMENT. But you’ll get the idea eventually…. 😉
