Having the same sort of problem – fridge now sitting at 20 degrees, all warning lights flashing and have been even when the temp was correct. The alarm also goes off regularly, even at low temp.
What is this defrost timer thing for?

This model has no defrost timer. The defrost cycle is swiched on & off by the control board. The most likely cause is either the evaporator or drain heaters going open circuit. Another thing could be an out of calibration evaporator or air sensor which the board doesn’t recognise as a fault unlike if they go open or short circuit. Best thing to do is unplug the appliance & test for continuity of both heaters. If they check out, it is probably the sensor.
Let me know how you get on.
