Hi there
We have had a major pong problem and eventually traced it (we think) to some spilt milk that got out of sight behind the lowest door tray in the fridge section – we think some weeks ago (nasty) . Having given this (and the rest of the fridge and freezer) a very thorough clean, the whiff is improved, but hasn’t completely gone. I have 2 theories about this:
1 /The door seal itself is very difficult to clean – I’ve got rid of all of the nasty residue inside the seal but there is still a horrid niff from that area, so the milk may have got into the door cavity itself (??)
2/ The problem may be solved (‘ish) but the fan is still circulating the niff and it will take a couple of days to disappear.
The defrost drain is ok and the water in the evaporator tray was clean, so I am pretty convinced that the milk in the door seal is the problem.
Is there a way of removing the seal without wrecking it so that we can clean it properly? – do we need to take the door off and take it to bits to do this?
Any help would be very very much appreciated
Cheers
Mike
