ParticipantHad this machine since 2006, no probelms.
it runs with the pump going, no spinning of water blade, and no water.
Now I get the green wash light flashing, never seen that before, and manual does not say what the fault is. Tried the ‘hold on’ reset, no luck resetting.
Checked water in, I do have water, and drain filter clear, and no water in sump belew filter.
Does this mean that the electric water valve is not opening, or is it a control box fault?
If it is the valve, do you know the replacement number?
Thanks Colin.

the list of fault can go on a bit but you are saying the machine is not taking in water so it could be
no water supply to machine ( tap turned off, kinked inlet hose )
water valve failed ( normally the coil but may be the valve body) complete unit fron Zanussi) you would have to check for supply to valve to confirm
broken wire ( most machine have the programmer in the door. not sure on this model without checking but the wires can break from door to base
pressure switch This switch senses water level using air pressure. the chamber where the water traps to make this pressure get blocked and can make the machine think its full when its not
programmer yes they can go faulty as well but due to cost you have to eliminate all other faults before you go for it

The water is there ok going into the machine, have checked.
Any idea what the green flashing light means (its the WASH light, solid green when running normally), I assume it means no water in machine, so has tripped out, though if switched back on, pump is running with dry sound, ie, no water.
Thanks for the tips on where the fault may be, especially that water level sensor, did not think of that.
I will check that and water in valve first.

chances are its displaying fault 1 ie 1 flash then a pause so it just looks like its flashing if it was fault 2 it would go flash ,flash, pause
in your case its fault 1 which is water fill time out
poss faults
Tap closed; water mains pressure too low; fill
solenoid / wiring faulty; hydraulic circuit of pressure
switch obstructed; level pressure switch / wiring
faulty; circuit board faulty (solenoid triac short circuited)Dave

Thanks, Yes, thats it, water is not getting in.
I will start looking at the components you mentioned to see if they are working on not, (getting my electrical meter out now), and hopefully its just the valve solinoid to replace, (new is under £25).
But if it defeats me, it looks like I will just have to buy a new cheaper make of dish washer with a one year guarantee is around £160 upwards. That is just a bit more than the cost of getting a repairer in.
The fact thats its a beat up 8 year old machine, is not worth putting too much money into it, for repairs. Anyway thanks, I will check the machine out.

OK, got round to taking the machine apart.
The inlet water solinoid is working fine. Pity, as that would have been the easiest item to replace and the cheapest solution.
After looking nothing obvious found, and the rest of the electrical components are beyond me knowing if they are working or not, and it would cost too much to replace parts on an ad-hock basis, so I have just chucked the machine in car and taken it up to the recycling dump. Eight years use was not bad going.
Going to buy a new dish washing machine this week with one years guarentee.
Its crazy days when calling in a repair man with his travel costs, figuring it out at an hourly rate and parts, is nearly as much as just buying another new machine.
Anyway, Thanks for your help.

In case others are in the same situation, and looking for a cheap machine replacement…..
Just as a conclusion, I ended up buying a Currys dishwasher machine on-line, an Essentials CDW60S14 Full-size Dishwasher (silver colour option), at £180 includes 1 years guarentee, free delivery, and free uplift of old machine. Works great on half hour program, easy to work, and quite quiet at 55db. Energy rating A+.
White model is CDW60W13 at £10 cheaper. Wife wanted siver, so kept her happy.I am just glad I am no longer washing the dishes by hand, LOL!
Just hope it lasts as long as the previous machine, Cheers Colin.
