Zanusssi Aquacycle 1000 SPIN PROBLEM

Zanusssi Aquacycle 1000 Model F1045 W

My washing machine will not execute a long spin (“G” on program control)
Drum rotates freely, stops & starts intermittently but will not do a long spin
Any help much appreciated

if i am right you have the older type of mechanical timer ( ie you turn a knob to det the programme and you can hear the switches clicking as you do)

when you set a spin programme the machine seem to try to speed up into spin but fails each time

if so its a failure of the power supply that feeds the electronics on the timer
faily easy fix for a professional thats had it before

Dave, thanks for diagnosis, yes it has the rotary control to select programmes etc.
Any data on power supply-voltage etc & I would check with meter.

dont know voltages but power supply is designed to drop the voltage from 230 to under 50 ( dont know exact voltage). in this unit they use a 1uF (i think ) capacitor as a dropper. As these age the voltage on the board falls and the unit starts to fail
