    Hi.
Customer had a self discovered E5, not draining. They took sump hose, pump etc out to clean and still not working.
On fault diagnosis as soon as first click is done the start button flashes red and door doesn’t lock so can’t go through the diagnosis. Checked pump, element etc and the door lock circuit which seems ok but if it won’t go further what can I do/ does it mean the lock is faulty as a first step/
    Any help welcome.

There is no E5 on Zanussi’s. It could be E5 plus another digit (ie E51 a tacho error) and any E5? Errors are motor based problems. As you may well know the red LED represents the first digit in the error code, the green LED the second. Count them alternating flashes! 😀

    Hi Martin,
Press start and nearest option and 5 green flashes, according to the customer manual it’s a drain fault. All very confusing since I can’t start diagnosis or get past fault codes.

Just to reiterate, the error is gained only from looking at the Start/Pause button (flashing red the green and repeating) as illustrated below……

    As it says….”GURU”…..
Missed that bit, it’ll teach me to go by the user manual.
Ta Martin, looks like the motor has fried the pcb.
    Oh well!
