ParticipantHi All,
I have a Zanussi ZWD1471W washer/drier, and it has stopped draining during drying cycle. I used the emptying nozzle at bottom to empty it, removed all clothes, poured in a couple of litres of water (into drum), closed up and put it on a drying cycle to see if it would drain. It appeared to gravity drain (drain pipe into a low bucket), but no more than that before E20 appeared again.
I imagined that the drain pump must be buggered, so I removed it. it measured 200 ohm across it which seemed reasonable, and when connected to 220V in free air it turns at what I imagine to be more or less the correct speed. it does stutter a bit, which I thought could either be attributable to the impellor needing to be immersed in water for the bearings (?) to let it run smoothly, or it must be buggered.
Given that I have an E20 error, and no limescale or blockages, I am sure that the drain pump is buggered. Is this a logical assumption? The impellor does not turn very freely when I turn it by hand.
Also, if anyone could point me in the direction of either a replacement, or another couple of tests that might pin the problem down even more, I would be grateful. The house is awash with toddlers, the wife is starting a new job and has limited appropriate attire, and I fear that if I do not live up to my expectation of fixing anything and everything within 24 hours flat, my wife may murder for the insurance money, and the new washing machine that could be bought from those proceeds.
Many thanks,

Just to add, the sticker that fell of said motor says
Askoll 290793 N
Cod: 124920630
Assy: 132187835
220-240V, 50Hz, 30W CI.HAfter searching for ZWD1471W drain pump, I got confused. All the pumps I saw seemed to have a black two or three way head fitted to them (like this one http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/Washing+ … +Pump.html), when the pump I suspect is buggered, bolts straight onto the drain bit wherein the filter sits. No black facia bit…

Cheers!
Are the tags on the PMP999 smaller than the ones on the original, so I would need to make adapter leads?
Also, is there any easyish way of checking the driving electronics (triac I guess) is working? I don’t want to bolt everything back together and run a cycle just to see if I measure 220V across it, only to have to drain and take apart one more time 🙁
