ParticipantGoing Tuesday evening. Apparently it spins and drains fine but when set to wash it does not fill (or possibly only part fills) then stops after a minute or two and display reverts to “0mins”.
Important to note that this fault began as an intermittent one and has worked fine between episodes but seems to be consistent now. (Would be unusual for a solenoid methinks).
I haven’t seen it yet, just going by telephone interrogation of customer.
Any pointers please. Have service manual off mediator.

Thanks, that’s one possibility but very unlikely round here as water is very soft and bocked pressure switches very rare. Still, I think that’s a useful pointer that i should check connections around p/sw.

Well I went to this yesterday and it’s pretty obviously a loose connection somewhere. Trouble is finding where. There are about ten seconds after start during which it makes up its mind whether to work or not. So pushing and pulling wires during repeated re-starts I eventually discovered that if I held the loom up firmly towards the top of the module it would work consistently. So I tied the loom to the top of the plastic module case (drilling a small hole in the plastic to put the tie through 😯 -no doubt Jim’ll do his nut 😆 ) and left it working. I’ve arranged to return in a couple of weeks with some jockeys for the noisy t/dryer. It would be nice to be able to have a finger ready on the button to order new wiring loom(s) if needed. Has anybody ever fitted new looms to these? I can’t find much on connect except the little blue one for communication errors.
Mike.
PS one other clue – got an E30 at one point suggesting p/sw. so I think it’s one of those connectors.August 19, 2009 at 10:46 pm #294602Penguin45

I might be looking at the pcb, Mike, rather than the wiring – the soldering iron is your friend 😀 .

Thanks for the tip Chris. I’ll bear it in mind to look for a dry joint if/when problem comes back.
