    The Matsui is quieter, has greater extraction and is £250 cheaper!
    I’m still not sure how I can get the venting ( and the flat stuff on a straight run looks my best bet) to attach to the chimney hood. It looks like the Matsui has a rectanglar top.
    And my joists run the wrong way – unless I vent it out into the conservatory…………………………..

    The article was useful. I certainly don’t intend to spoil the refitted kitchen with a cheap hood.
    Do you have any thoughts on how I can vent from the chimney hood (I’ll probably go for the rangemaster unless you can suggest another black 90cm chimney hood)?
    The cooker faces an internal wall and the nearest external wall is 2 metres to the right of the cooker.
