I have already noticed that edges inside are pretty sharp but thank you for reminding me 🙂
I was kind of mixed up because its my first washing machine repair.
After reading your post I have taken another look at the machine.
I now undestand that the “pulley” (rusty wheel in my pucture?) is connected to the inner drum while the “4 arm thing” (is that what you called spider?) is mounted on the outer drum.
I should disassemble both, right? Ill try and see if I can find bearings and/or shells somewhere.
May I ask you how much you pay for a complete spider? I assume it comes with bearings and gasket but would it also come with a new pulley (so it would be ready to install)?
By the way… Ive noticed that the the pulley has got no edging (unlike the electric motor that has) that keeps the ribbed drive belt in place… I wonder how the belt has managed not to come off the pulley over the last 5 years. Can you tell me how that works?
