    Re: RS21DGRS fridge freezing issue

long delay in posting anything here.. Since I stripped the fridge down last time it has been running perfect!

The new parts are still in the box! I have no doubt I will need them as there is some damage to the cover, so its only a matter of time but knowing its running okay for the time being is very good!

Thanks for all the help and I will keep this updated

    Andrew

    Re: RS21DGRS fridge freezing issue

It was very frosted, I was surprised at how much Ice had formed over such a short space of time. I had Ice everywhere from the evaporator cover – around the fan unit and through the drain right down the back of the unit. As the water “s” bend ices up in 2-3 days would this give any further clues?

    Re: RS21DGRS fridge freezing issue

Tested the fridge yesterday, I am no expert with a multimeter but think I have it right.
    Thermal Fuse – =Continuity – 0.0
    defrost heater
    Main= 470
    Drain Heater = 2110

Defrost Sensor is the white one but on the correct side, testing with
a multimeter show it to be fine.

I managed to break the evaporator cover removing it – the edging snapped off in the ice. the whole thing really is rubbish!

I dont really know were to go from here with the components testing okay. The fridge freezes in approx 2 weeks now, water stops in 48 hours, cooling reduces then fan starts making a noise at the 2 week point. I was amazed how much ice there was for such a short period.

    Any pointers greatly appreciated

    Re: RS21DGRS fridge freezing issue

Thanks Eldar, I have strip it down again next week and put a meter over the key components, when I posted I had not realised there were so many parts that could be in the frame. Such a shame these have so many flaws.

    Re: RS21DGRS fridge freezing issue

The evaporator cover looks like it just holds a fan unit (is there more to it?) the fan unit appears to be running fine, after the defrost the fridge was chilling fine for a short period then is frosted up again, the defrost circuit sounds like it could be the cause, looking at a your tube video it appears I do not have the latest defrost sensor modification kit, currently this sensor is still on the right hand side of the fridge.

    Help is really appreciated!

    Re: RS21DGRS fridge freezing issue

Samsung came out a while ago, there was a modification and I believe they replaced the evaporator cover at the same time.

Whatever the Samsung ‘fix’ was to the known freezing issue was completed by Samsung

    Re: RS21DGRS fridge freezing issue

Anyone take a stab at the issue?
I would like to get few more months out of the thing before replacing – We maybe moving in 3-6 months, if I can keep this ticking over it would be great.

    Thanks

Cheers Guys, I posted from my office which goes out to the internet via Germany. I am isn Bexley Kent, we get a lot in John Lewis, always great service but not always the cheapest. I did speak to a good independent I have uesd in the past but his price seemed very high.
Will check the link out above.

Thanks Seamy. I had always thought of Beko as low end and ignored them, I will check them out for sure.
